Our business exists only because of customers who spend their money on our products. The customer is the only reason we are here. Consequently, the customer is never an interruption. Without those customers, there would be no Zingerman’s and no jobs. Consequently, the customer always comes first.

Zingerman’s is what is known in the business world these days as an “open book management company.” In other words we actively share detailed information about the financial performance of the organization with everyone. Profit and loss statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements and Department Operating Reports are all part of our expected regular reading routines for everyone in the ZCoB, from partner and pastry chef to part-time disher and everyone in between.
